Early inspiration
South Louisiana-born and mostly Texas-bred, Christie’s cultural background and identity is a delightful smorgasbord. She grew up fluent in English, Spanish, Cajun and Texan.
With her mother hailing from Honduras, Christie spent numerous childhood Summers with her brothers picking mangos off trees in her Abuelita’s backyard. Classic American holidays were often spent in her father’s hometown in woodsy Western Pennsylvania.
Christie’s family had a unique opportunity to experience life abroad in enchanting Guatemala City during her grade school years. It may come as no surprise that Christie’s love for writing, reading, cultures and languages blossomed at a young age.
the making of a storyteller
After changing her major 5 times, Christie graduated from the. University of Texas at Austin in 2009. She dreamed of a career that would marry savvy business principals with emotion evoking art forms.
During the height of the financial recession, Christie decided to enroll in a highly reputable French program at the Sorbonne in Paris and become an Au Pair. After a year of absorbing Parisian culture, the next organic stop was New York City.
Christie spent seven exhilarating years working for three contemporary fashion brands on the corporate strategic side of the business.
Ready for the next adventure, Christie packed up her 4th floor West Village walkup and moved to Austin to co-found a boutique marketing – social media business with her older brother.
In early 2021, Christie branched out and launched a solo marketing – copywriting venture, Brazen Bond, that serves as a beacon for small businesses and brands. She is deeply invested and fueled by the successes of her clients and partners.
Christie’s colorful background, impactful experiences, robust professional experience and refreshing point of view are part of the secret sauce that make her marketing and copywriting so effective and unique.
Christie currently resides in Austin, Texas with her husband Josh, spirited rescue dog Pierre, spunky Siamese cat Chewie and backyard chickens.
